Ian's Flemish Polo Coupé 1.0

Hello,

Let me introduce myself.. Already did it in the French section, but I'm sure it will be easier for me in English. So, I am Ian, born in 1989 (so that makes me 20 right now, turning 21 in december) and I live in Eastern Flanders, in Belgium.

I own a 1991 Volkswagen Polo 2F Coupé Fox, with 1.0 engine. Bought it in september 2009, last year. When I bought it, it had run 74.060 km. Right now it has just passed 76.100 km. Before that I owned a Renault Clio from 1994, for only a year. The car pretty sucked compared to the Polo, though it was faster (1.1 engine). But in winter time, the Clio was very hard to get started. It also was very basic and had a manual choke, while the 3 year older Polo has automatic choke. 8)

The car is in pretty good condition, it used to be of an old lady, that only drove 600 km's a year in the last years she owned it. So, I'm the second owner. There's practically no rust, but the car suffered from an accident. Don't know if she hit someone or got hit. I'm guessing that she got hit since the righer back side was probably replaced, looking at the color difference. Both front and back bumpers also got crippled, so I recently bought some new (2nd hand off course) ones, along with G40 lights and some smoked blinkers. :D

Here's some pictures:

How it was when I bought it:

What to be added in the future:

- Lowering springs (probably 60/40)
- VW Golf 1 Quartet/snowflake 14"rims (during summertime, and the Borbet Atiwe's in winter time) :D
- Maybe a fresh Paint job on the outer side in the same blue color as it is now (Paint condition on the inside looks good, nearly as new)

Greetings from Belgium! :vroum:

The old piece was damaged a bit, so I replaced it with a 'new' one, but it's not fitting well yet. :|

Might do a Paintjob in the future though.

My French topic was closed. :(

Oh well, I'm not good at French anyway.

Today I washed the Polo, just with water, no soap. Next week I'll probably wash it with soap and wax it a bit, if the weather is nice.

Here 2 rain pics from last week when I was looking if the Borbet Atiwe rims with new center rings fitted:

If everything goes well, there'll come lowering springs under it. Bought them from someone at Volksforum.com. They are only a couple of months old and they're TA Technics springs of -60mm. Here's a picture of the previous owner his car with the springs underneath it:
